It’s not often that a manufacturer takes a drastic departure from its preferred engine layout. The first bike to receive KTM’s new p-twin is the all-new KTM 790 Duke. The KTM 790 is middleweight, bare sport bike that falls in between the single-cylinder 690 Duke and the flagship of the Duke line, the 1290 Super Duke R.

It is designed to deliver self-belief exciting control that outfits all motorbike riders. The KTM 790 DUKE features 4-way adjustable handlebars, a race-inspired seating position and high-set foot pegs. As a result, it’s perfectly suited for more aggressive riding styles.

The Attitude and Performance

The KTM 790 DUKE’s unbelievable handling individuality is founded on the dynamic, load-bearing design of the engine. But a large part of its agility comes from an all-new lightweight frame package, utilizing the engine as a central handling element. The chromoly steel frame also features a modern cast aluminum sub-frame. So, it keeps the chassis inflexible and compact for sharper turn-in and greater bend angles. It allows the bike to move through the turns with extreme responsiveness.

The design of bike is taken from the 1290 SUPER DUKE R, apparently being the exclusive LED headlight cluster. The unique sharp lines and compact 11/13 proportions are set off by signature KTM orange graphics, indicates the dominant intentions for pure road runner.

The KTM 790 DUKE’s is Lightweight and compact, with a new 799 cc, 8-valve DOHC parallel twin engine. Excellent efficiency with class-leading levels of power and torque (105 hp & 87 Nm), this new twin is a middle-weight force to be reckoned with. Built for torque, this liquid cooled 8 valve unit delivers 87 Nm at 8000 rpm, almost immediately followed by a roaring 105 hp finale.

KTM 790 DUKE pilots with full power output, Launch Control, increased throttle response and the ability to free the anti-wheelie function for rear-wheel antics.
